How do I connect TripleSeat to Novela?

This guide walks you through connecting your TripleSeat account to Novela so your bookings can be imported and managed inside the Novela planning portal.

Once connected, Novela will automatically import your confirmed bookings and create client records, allowing you to invite clients into Novela and unlock referral revenue.

What This Integration Does

When you connect TripleSeat to Novela:

  • Novela imports bookings from your TripleSeat account
  • Only bookings with a Definite status are imported as clients
  • Imported clients can be invited into the Novela planning portal
  • Your bookings and client data stay centralized and up to date

What You’ll Need Before You Start

You will need access to:

  • Your TripleSeat account
  • Your Novela venue account with access to Settings

Step 1: Create an API Application in TripleSeat

  1. Sign in to your TripleSeat account
  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → API Applications
  3. Create a new API application with the following details:

    Name
    Novela

    Description
    Integrates venue bookings and client data with Novela to invite clients into the Novela planning portal and enable referral revenue.

    Redirect URI
    https://app.novelaweddings.com/oauth/tripleseat

    Scopes / Permissions
    Bookings: Read

    Information URL
    https://www.novelaweddings.com/
  4. Save the application

After saving, TripleSeat will generate:

  • UID
  • Secret

Keep these values handy. You will enter them into Novela in the next step.

Step 2: Connect TripleSeat in Novela

  1. Sign in to your Novela account
  2. Go to Settings → CRM Integration
  3. Locate TripleSeat and click Connect
  4. Enter the following values from TripleSeat:
    • UID
    • Secret
  5. Click Connect

At this point, a TripleSeat authentication pop-up will open.

  1. In the pop-up window, sign in to your TripleSeat account using your TripleSeat username and password
  2. NOTE: if you are already logged into your TripleSeat account in your current browser window, TripleSeat may bypass this step
  3. Follow any on-screen prompts from TripleSeat to approve Novela’s access to your account



Once approved:

  • TripleSeat will redirect back to Novela automatically
  • The pop-up window will close on its own
  • Novela will validate the connection

If everything is successful, you will see a confirmation message indicating that TripleSeat is connected successfully.

If the connection fails, double-check your UID and Secret and ensure you completed the approval steps in the TripleSeat pop-up.

Step 3: Confirm the Connection

Once connected:

  • The TripleSeat tile will show a Connected status
  • Novela will begin importing eligible bookings
  • You can disconnect at any time from the same screen if needed

Booking Import Rules

To avoid incomplete or tentative data, Novela only imports bookings that meet the following criteria:

  • Booking status in TripleSeat must be Definite

Tentative, prospect, or inquiry-level bookings will not be imported until they reach Definite status in TripleSeat.

Troubleshooting

If the connection fails:

  • Double-check that the UID and Secret were copied correctly
  • Confirm the Redirect URI matches exactly:
    https://app.novelaweddings.com/oauth/tripleseat
  • Verify that Bookings: Read permission is enabled
  • Ensure your TripleSeat user has permission to manage API applications

If issues persist, contact Novela support with your venue name and a description of the error.
